Maureen McBride

Maureen McBride - Vocals

Singing from the day she could talk, Maureen had her first lead role in a musical as an 11 year old. Growing up in Scarborough, she spend most of her time listening & practicing with such influences as Linda Ronstadt, Pat Benetar, Petula Clark, Barbara Streisand, Bette Midler & Cher.

She continued on to play lead actor/singer roles throughout grade & highschool. Maureen graduated with High Honours from Seneca College School of Communication Arts in 1991, and was awarded best campus DJ for 1991. She interned at the "MIX 99.9" and not too long after that landed an evening slot as a radio personality for CHOO Country Radio (now KX 96).

Her first gig as a professional singer was at age 16 in a band called Positive Images debuting at Seaton Golf & Country Club in Pickering. She also appeared in The Toronto Sun as a Sunshine Girl in March of 1982. At 23, she met a very talented singer/songwriter & guitarist, Candy Sheppard, and together they formed Tennessee Lace which lasted over 10 years until Candy flew south of the border to Florida. Maureen continued to shine in other venues as a piano-bar singer at the "Old Liverpool House" in Pickering, and made a guest appearance at the "Waterfront" also in Pickering, and many nightclubs with her band in the Durham Area and the greater Toronto area.

Just recently, Maureen starred in a local musical theater production and continues to enjoy the theatrical side that has always been in her.

Ms. McBride has performed & recorded with names such as Ed Pilling from Fludd, Greg Goddovitz of Goddo, Brian Gatto, Anne Murray's keyboardist, Rick Johnson and his Jamboree band, just to name a few and has enjoyed guest appearances with the "Zodiacs" in Barbados. Maureen is also very proud to have sung at "Tootsies" in Nashville. The Maureen McBride Band is very proud to donate their time and talent to local charities, enjoying their 4th year now performing for the Joe Dickson Charity Golf Tournament held at Deer Creek Golf and Country Club in Ajax. The band is also pleased to annually appear for Ajax Home Week.

Ms. McBride now freelances doing voice-overs for radio and television commercials airing on major stations in the Toronto area and continues to enjoy performing, especially singing the National Anthem for various hockey clubs and singing at weddings. Throughout her various careers as a broadcaster for radio and television production, photographer, disc jockey, karaoke jockey and energy worker (see her other website here), Maureen continues to delve into her most prized aspect of her life other than her two children, two step-children and Stevers.......the love for music and devotion to all the guys in the band.

Andy Turchyniak

Andy Turchyniak - Guitar

Andy first studied violin at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Montreal in the early days. He is mostly self taught on the guitar – and has been playing from age 14 (too many years to mention!). He has attended the National Guitar Workshop at Humber College, and spent One week with blues legend, Ronnie Earl in 1995, and attended the Guelph University Guitar Symposium in 2004.

Andy is passionate about guitar, about every aspect and every style of music associated with the instrument. His styles range from acoustic fingerstyle to jazzy electric blues improvisations, hard-ass rock to classical etudes. His main musical influences are Robben Ford, Eric Clapton, SRV (for his raw passion), Albert Collins, Albert King, B.B.King, Lawrence Juber, Kenny Burrell, Harry Manx, Ronnie Earl and many, many others. He continues to be a student of the guitar and gets pleasure from playing with and learning from others.

Andy has played with many bands, including The Indelible Blues Band, Melgum Road, Who's Here? (a WHO cover band performing the rock opera "Tommy"), and Blues Jams. He is currently playing guitar with The Frank Zochodne Band, an eclectic rock/blues/roots quartet and is pleased to be lead guitarist with the Maureen McBride Band, a mostly rock/new country band.

Andy is happily married to his loving and supportive wife, Vicki. He has one son, Jesse, and a beautiful daughter-in-law Michelle. He is also the proud grandfather to Parker and Grace, and is kept busy with his two bichon frises "Chiclets" and "Gumby".
